NSW Nationals Senators, Fiona Nash, and John Williams, will be among the Nationals team to attend next week’s Henty Machinery Field Days, in the Riverina.
They’ll be joined by the new Nationals Member for Riverina, Michael McCormack; the former and well-known Riverina MP, Kay Hull; NSW Upper House candidate, Niall Blair; and the NSW Chair, Christine Ferguson, and grassroots members.
The Nationals team will be at the field days to talk to people about matters of interest, and those that concern them.
“Thousands of people attend the annual Henty Machinery Field Days and most of them are from rural and regional areas,” Senator Nash said. “
The Nationals have supported the field days for many years and I have no doubt there’ll be considerable interest in the political landscape this year and the performance of the minority Labor-Greens government.
“I am also keen to speak to farming families and rural businesses about the conditions and hope that they’ve benefited from the rain.”
Senator Williams says the Henty Field Days will be a good indicator of just how farmers are coping.
“Most of NSW has received good rains and it’s heartening to see signs of a good spring and hopefully a bumper winter crop,” he said.
“But let’s not forget it can take our farmers years to recover from a decade long drought. They produce our food and fibre and we should look out for them.
“That’s exactly what the Nationals team will continue to do. I especially look forward to working with my federal colleagues like Fiona and Michael, in holding the Labor-Greens Government accountable to regional Australia.”
The Henty Machinery Field Days are held from September 21 to 23.
