Nash “Talk to me Tour” to visit Tweed & North Coast

Senator Fiona Nash, Deputy Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, will tomorrow visit Tweed and Banora Point and meet with local small businesses and residents as part of her New South Wales regional and coastal “Talk to me Tour”.

After launching the state-wide tour in Gunnedah last week, and travelling through Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes and Tenterfield, Senator Nash will tomorrow start the Northern NSW leg of her tour travelling from the Tweed down through Ballina, Lismore, Casino, Grafton and Coffs Harbour.

“My Picture (Device Independent Bitmap)will provide people living in regional areas such as the Tweed and North Coast with the opportunity to talk to me to discuss the issues that are affecting them and their families.

“It is very important to me to have a clear understanding of the issues concerning people in their local communities and regions.

“I am expecting many issues to be raised, including health, education, infrastructure, telecommunications and the environment.

“It is becoming increasingly clear that the Rudd Labor Government and Federal Labor Member Justine Elliot simply don’t understand the needs of our regional and coastal communities, and are continuing to ignore issues that are vital for people living in those areas.

“The Tweed is an important region with so many unique issues that deserve to be heard and acted upon. It’s one of many regional communities that the Coalition takes very seriously and stands up for.

“I hope the people of the Tweed will take the opportunity to share their views with me. It is people at the local level who have the greatest understanding of the needs of their local communities, and I’m looking forward to hearing from them,” Senator Nash said.

“I am very pleased to be able to visit the Tweed area, so strongly represented in the State Parliament by local MP Geoff Provest, and I will be out and about and listening and taking the local issues back to Canberra where rural and regional Australia has a strong voice in The Nationals.

Over the coming week the Senator will visit Tweed Heads, Ballina, Lismore, Casino, Grafton and Coffs Harbour.

Geoff Provest is a first class failure. He has whinged for years about Police numbers but has not promised a single officer from his side of politics even if Barry O'Farrell is elected in march 2011. Mr Provest has achieved nothing in 3 years and obviously you are up in Tweed trying to prop him up. The extent of his incompetence is staggering but you probably don't know this because you live 1400 klms away and only visit as often as most people do on their annual holidays. Stop being so disingenuous to suggest that you know better than Tweed residents and stick to things the Nationals are good at like... banjo playing.
