Nash “Talk to me Tour” visits Gunnedah

Senator Fiona Nash, Deputy Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, will today launch her regional tour of NSW, starting in Gunnedah.

“My talk to me tour will provide people living in regional areas such as Gunnedah, with the opportunity to talk to me to discuss the issues that are affecting them and their families. “It is very important to me to have a clear understanding of the issues concerning people in their local communities. “Gunnedah is a beautiful part of the New England and is home to many proud rural and regional Australians and I couldn’t think of a better location or community to kick off my tour. “I am expecting many issues to be raised, including health, education, infrastructure, telecommunications and the environment. It is becoming increasingly clear that the Rudd Labor government simply doesn’t understand the needs of our regional communities, and is continuing to ignore issues that are vital for people living in those areas. “Gunnedah has been in good hands, with local champion and Federal Nationals MP Mark Coulton continually standing up and fighting for the community he holds so dear. “I hope the people of Gunnedah will take the opportunity to share their views with me. It is people at the local level who have the greatest understanding of the needs of their local communities, and I’m looking forward to hearing from them,” Senator Nash said. “I am very pleased to be in Gunnedah and I will be out and about and listening and taking the local issues back to Canberra where rural and regional Australia has a strong voice in The Nationals.
