Senator Fiona Nash has congratulated Pottsville businesswoman Tania Murdock on her preselection as The Nationals’ candidate to contest the seat of Richmond in next year’s federal election.
“Tania is an outstanding candidate with a strong interest in community issues,” Senator Nash said.
“She is president of the Pottsville Chamber of Commerce and with her husband, Colin, operates two pharmacies in the town.
“The Nationals are the party for regional Australia and I know Tania represents those same values of putting small business ahead of big business, understanding the importance of good economic management and standing firm on traditional family values.
“I was delighted that she was unanimously endorsed by Richmond Nationals.
“During my frequent visits to the North Coast, especially since the last election, I have heard from many local people about how concerned they are with the Labor Government’s neglect of the region.
“Labor made lavish promises about taking over hospitals from their dysfunctional state colleagues, delivering fast broadband and fixing the Pacific Highway, but there has been little in the way of action.
“Tania will be raising the issue of the lack of rail services between Casino and Murwillumbah with Nationals Leader Warren Truss and Liberal Leader Tony Abbott as the Coalition develops its election policies.”

Tania Murdock fabricated a story to falsely obtained a Qld drivers licence after racking up 26 traffic offences on her NSW licence this month. Tweed court last week found her out trying to pass herself off as a Qld. And all this happened on the day she nominated to run as a candidate. She has lost any and all credibility and intregrity over this incident.

This is outrageous. The state of NSW has been devestated by a huge spike in traffic related death and truma this year and the Nationals preselect a candidate that is a serial speeder and road menace. Are the Nationals going after the disqualified driver and drink driver offender vote in Richmond? This is a bad look for the Nationals no matter what spin you are trying to put on it IMHO.

I see them everyday in my job, these stupid dopes that place everyonelse's safety at risk when they overtake over double lines and speed. From now on I'll keep an eye out for cars with National party stickers on the rear bumpers out around the Parramatta / Richmond area.
