NSW Nationals Senator Fiona Nash has warmly welcomed a visit to Australia today by renowned globetrotter and celebrity bureaucrat Kevin ‘747’ Rudd. “It is a great honour to have King Kev visit our remote Pacific Island so soon after dominating the United Nations gathering in New York and narrowly failing to achieve world peace,” Senator Nash said. “I do hope he extends his stay for as long as possible – there is simply too much to see and do here in a week or two.” Although he prefers to speak Mandarin Chinese, Mr Rudd is said to be fluent in English, so he should have no trouble lecturing locals, although he does struggle to understand country folk. Senator Nash said she hoped Mr Rudd would find time for a rare visit to regions outside the tourist traps of the capital cities. “I hope Mr Rudd – who I understand is flying in on a private jet tomorrow – can learn a lot about our country. After he leaves our shores again, he will be able to tell his Hollywood star friends all about the quaint things he saw Downunder.” “I am seeking an audience with him before he goes to plead the case of Australian seniors. “However I do understand he only inherited a budget surplus of $21 billion, so he is reluctant to invest in a $30-a-week rise for single pensioners and veterans no matter how desperate their plight,” Senator Nash concluded.
