NSW Nationals Senator Fiona Nash has pledged to work around the clock following her promotion into the Coalition Shadow Ministry as Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Water Resources and Conservation. “Water resources have long been the prime concern of many of the country people the Nationals represent and I don't intend to let them down,” Senator Nash said. “We have seen Rudd Labor make mistake after mistake in water management, because they've got no idea what goes on outside the capital cities.” Senator Nash said she also looked forward to working with her Liberal colleague, Greg Hunt MP, Shadow Minister for Climate Change, Environment and Water. She said she was leaving her Party Whip's position in good hands with incoming NSW Senator John Williams taking over that role. “Wacka Williams is a former stockman and shearer so he'll wield the whip literally if necessary.” She expected the Nationals Deputy Leader Senator Nigel Scullion to make a significant impact as the new Shadow Minister for Human Services, holding to account the agencies responsible for delivering fixed incomes to millions of Australians.
