“People can call the hotline on 13 11 20 from 9 to 9 on Thursday…” Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in NSW, mainly striking the over 50s. This has prompted Nationals Senator Fiona Nash, to encourage men to call a special prostate cancer hotline on Thursday (11 September). “If my husband David is a typical example, then it is true that country blokes aren’t always very good at looking after their health,” Senator Nash said. “That is why I want to help promote this excellent initiative by the Cancer Council, which is a great way of getting confidential information about this very serious illness.” “People can call the hotline on 13 11 20 from 9 to 9 on Thursday to get advice and information about prostate cancer and how to detect and prevent it.” “Prostate cancer affects more than 10 per cent of the male population, but the good news is that is very much treatable if detected early enough,” Senator Nash concluded.
