I urge all AWB Limited "A" class shareholders who have not voted on the constitutional reforms to exercise their right to do so before the general meeting on Wednesday 3 September said Senator Fiona Nash today. " Growers need to ensure that a broad representation is indicated from "A" class shareholders and as only 27% of "A" class shareholders had voted, as of Tuesday 19 August, it is really important that those growers that have as yet not voted get their votes in. "The vote is in relation to the removal of Article 2 of the constitution which states that the company primarily engage in grain trading. The reform proposes this to be changed so an object of the company is to be involved in the business of grain trading. The changes would also mean there would be fewer grower directors", said Senator Nash. "A" class shareholders have until 2pm on Monday 1 September to lodge postal votes or appoint proxies for the meeting. Voting papers can be faxed to 1800 800 053 or growers can vote online at www.awb.com.au. Votes will also be taken at the meeting to be held at 2pm Wednesday 3 September at the office of AWB Limited, 380 LaTrobe Street in Melbourne. Further information about the voting process can be obtained by contacting AWB's Share Registry helpdesk on 1800 810 032. Media contact: Anita Cakalic 0409 489 751
