The Tweed River Art Gallery

Whether you're admiring the view across the magnificent Tweed Valley or the spectacular views of the various artworks adorning the walls, standing inside the recently completed Tweed River Art Gallery is undoubtedly a feast for the visual senses. Travelling to Murwillumbah for the official opening of Stage II of the gallery development recently, Senator Nash appaluded the vision of the local community in establishing such a wonderful asset for the area. "Everything about this gallery - from the land it has been built on to the actual construction - would not have been possible without the generosity and enthusiasm of the local community," Senator Nash said. "The Tweed River Art Gallery is without a doubt among the most impressive galleries located in regional Australia and the benefits it will afford the community will be experienced for many years to come. "The expanded gallery is sure to attract more and more visitors to Murwillumbah, providing the local tourism industry with an added boost. "The regions employment sector has also benefited from the project with more than 70 local builders and labourers employed in the gallery's construction, not to mention the extra full time and part time positions which have been created at the gallery since the project's completion. "The Tweed River Art Gallery Foundation, the Tweed Shire Council and the community at large should take great pride in the dedication, vision and passion they've demonstrated in expanding this wonderful community asset.
