An invention devised by a Byron Bay-based web development company is a step closer to entering the market place today following the latest round of innovation grants from the Federal Coalition Government, Nationals Senator Fiona Nash said. Senator Nash said Webko Pty Ltd has been granted $64,000 in funding from the Federal Coalition Government to help develop its SEMM invention – ‘Search Engine Marketing Machine’ – which is an automated specialised search engine marketing process. “This project is a great example of the innovation and ideas that so often originate in rural and regional areas,” Senator Nash said. “I certainly congratulate the company on its success and trust today’s funding announcement will help in turning this idea into a successful commercial product. “The Federal Coalition is proud to support projects like this as they are so important to rural and regional economies. After all, it’s innovative companies like this, and the products and services they develop, that hold the key to future job, and in turn, economic growth in our regions.” Webko Pty Ltd was awarded the funding under the Federal Coalition’s Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) programme.
