Students and staff at two Byron Bay schools will share in grants totaling $118,500 from the Federal Coalition Government under the Investing in Our Schools Programme, NSW Nationals Senator Fiona Nash said today. Senator Nash said Byron Community Primary School will receive $58,500 for a project to network the school’s computer system, while the Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School will receive $60,000 to purchase a range of items including an all weather roof. “The Federal Coalition Government recognises how important it is to provide schools with facilities that will enhance the education and well-being of students,” Senator Nash said. “The Government’s Investing in Our Schools Programme was set up to deliver funds to schools like the Byron Community Primary School and Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School to help establish strong and effective school systems which maximise opportunities for young Australians.” Byron Community Primary School – $58,500 Program description: Networking of the school’s computer system including cabling and a software upgrade for the administration area, the library and the design and technology room.
