FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PROVIDES BOOST TO WOMMIN BAY VILLAGE PROJECT

NSW Nationals Senator Fiona Nash today announced $42,600 Federal Government funding to expand facilities at the Wommin Bay Village. Senator Nash said the funding, provided as part of the Federal Coalition Government’s Regional Partnerships programme, will go towards constructing a multi-purpose room at the aged-care hostel. “I’m delighted to announce Regional Partnerships funding has been approved for the Wommin Bay multi-purpose room project,” Senator Nash said. “The multi-purpose room will provide residents with an area where they can enjoy quiet time for activities like reading, relaxation and gentle exercise, which up until now, there hasn’t been a specific area for. “The room can also be used for small functions and church services and most importantly, can be used as a place where residents and families can be offered counselling. “The community has contributed a great deal of support in getting this project off the ground, which, together with the contribution from the Federal Government, will help in providing a wonderful facility that can be enjoyed by residents and their families for years to come.” The Federal Coalition Government’s Regional Partnerships programme continues the Federal Government’s approach of working with local communities to support their ideas. A total of $270.5 million is available under the Regional Partnerships programme from 2006 – 07 to 2009 – 10. Media contact: Julie Siegert 0429 818 600
