The Annual General Meeting of the Young Branch of the Nationals elected a new chairperson and welcomed several new members, local Nationals Senator, Fiona Nash has revealed.
“There is considerable and growing enthusiasm for the Nationals across the Hume electorate and it was great to see such a good turnout at the Young meeting over the weekend,” Senator Nash said.
“The range of questions NSW Primary Industries and Small Business Minister Katrina Hodgkinson and I faced from the packed meeting proved that the members are very much geared up for the next election campaign.”
“I have lived in the Young region for over twenty years and I have never seen so much anger towards the Labor Party, this incompetent and dishonest Federal Government and its appalling neglect of the regions.”
“The Branch wisely elected Judith Hall as its new leader and I am sure she will build on the great work over many years of outgoing chairman Ian McColl.”
“Judith is a partner in a beef cattle business and was previously a school principal. She is a very strong member of her community.”
Ms Hall thanked the members for the trust they had placed in her and committed herself to working for change in Canberra.
“We need a fair deal for the regions! To achieve this we must all work together to get The Nationals back in Government,” she said.
