Nationals Senator for NSW, Fiona Nash, is giving North Coast residents the opportunity to have their say on the carbon tax through a survey.
“The Labor-Greens government is doing its best to gag debate on the carbon tax, most recently by granting only a week for public submissions to a parliamentary inquiry,” Senator Nash said.
“The Labor Member for Page, Janelle Saffin, should have offered to help her constituents speed read the 1100 pages of 19 pieces of legislation! Instead she said nothing nor demanded an extension.”
Senator Nash said surveys will be published in North Coast newspapers this week.
“People just have to fill it in, cut it out and send it back to my office,” she said.
“I urge people to use this opportunity to have their say. If they favour the tax, then that’s their democratic right to say so, just as it is for those who oppose it.
“If Janelle Saffin won't give Northern Rivers locals their say on Labor's broken carbon tax promise, I will.”
