Nash “Talk to me Tour” visits Armidale

Senator Fiona Nash, Deputy Leader of The Nationals in the Senate, will this afternoon visit Armidale and meet with local small businesses and residents as part of her regional and coastal “Talk to me Tour”.

After launching the state-wide tour yesterday in Gunnedah and spending this morning in Tamworth, Senator Nash will this afternoon take her “Talk to me Tour” to the streets of Armidale.

“My talk to me tour will provide people living in regional areas such as Armidale with the opportunity to talk to me to discuss the issues that are affecting them and their families.

“It is very important to me to have a clear understanding of the issues concerning people in their local communities and regions.

“Armidale is a beautiful part of the State and is home to many proud rural and regional Australians.

“I am expecting many issues to be raised, including health, education, infrastructure, telecommunications and the environment. It is becoming increasingly clear that the Rudd Labor Government simply doesn’t understand the needs of our regional communities, and is continuing to ignore issues that are vital for people living in those areas.

“Armidale is a very important region with so many unique issues that deserve to be heard and acted upon. It’s one of many regions that the Coalition takes very seriously and stands up for.

“I hope the people of Armidale will take the opportunity to share their views with me. It is people at the local level who have the greatest understanding of the needs of their local communities, and I’m looking forward to hearing from them,” Senator Nash said.

“I am very pleased to be in Armidale and I will be out and about and listening and taking the local issues back to Canberra where rural and regional Australia has a strong voice in The Nationals.

Over the coming weeks in Stages 1 and 2 the Senator will visit a range of regional towns including Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, Tweed Heads, Ballina, Lismore, Casino, Grafton, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.
