National Party Roadshow 

The National Party generated a lot of headlines when it fell out with Malcolm Turnbull and the Liberals over the government's emissions trading scheme. It also decided at its recent Federal Council meeting to promote its own brand more aggressively and be more independent from the Liberal Party. So to make sure the message hits home, the party has taken to the road in regional New South Wales.

The leadership group, Warren Truss, Barnaby Joyce, Nigel Scullion and Fiona Nash, are in a convoy touring centres stretching from Wentworth in the south, right up to Tweed Heads on the Queensland border. It's a week-long tour through what used to be National Party heartland, a dry run for next year's election campaign.
